Humanitarian Relief

Do not restrict your service. Be alert to calls from everywhere, and at all times; be ready with a smile, a kind word, a useful suggestion or a pleasant reply. Look for opportunities to relieve, rescue or resuscitate. Train yourselves so that you may render help promptly and well. Service is the most rewarding form of spiritual discipline, the most satisfying and the most pleasant. It springs out of love, and it spreads love abundantly.
- Sri Sathya Sai Baba, May 19, 1969

Sri Sathya Sai Baba has said, “Humanitarianism is an extended and sublimated form of self-love. Man must first humanize himself before attempting to divinize himself. Cultivate humanness and be an ideal to society.”

Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s mission was always focused on providing basic needs to the people suffering on any account, including natural disasters such as floods or earthquakes.  He directed the construction of homes, schools, or hospitals and provided water supply, food, and electricity to the underserved.

In order to serve our brethren around the world in their time of greatest need, including a disaster event, pandemic, poverty, and loss of homes, the Sri Sathya Sai International Organization members have organized to adequately respond to major disaster events and relief missions, provide resources and training to members to handle disasters, deal with pandemic issues, conduct food drives and construct homes.

Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take with you nothing that you have received - only what you have given: a full heart, enriched by honest service, love, sacrifice and courage.
- St. Francis of Assisi
