CLINICS

Welfare services should be free for all. There are numerous people who cannot afford the costs of medical treatment. Doctors should render free service to such persons.
- Sri Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol 28 8th June1995

Sri Sathya Sai Baba emphasized the responsibility of all medical professionals to provide medical services to the poor and needy who cannot pay for the medical costs.  He further mentions that All acts of service done to others are to be treated as service rendered to God.

To help the underserved and under privileged communities, several medical clinics are conducted by the Sri Sathya Sai Organization members.  These are organized by volunteers who are health care professionals.  These services are related to hygiene clinics, health screening, primary care, eye care, specialty and pediatric care for acute and long-term care patients.   Below are description and examples of clinics conducted by volunteers in the Sri Sathya Sai International Organization.

Medical Clinics:  To help the underserved and under privileged communities, several clinics related to  hygiene, health screening, primary care, specialty and pediatric care for acute and long-term care patients were conducted.

Dental and Eye Camps: Volunteers run vision camps and dental screening. Eye camps include eye exams, prescriptions and glasses based on prescriptions.  Dental exams included cleaning and treatment. Dental kits are also packaged and delivered These camps were mainly focused for disadvantaged communities.

Vision Camps

Vision Camp: Los Angeles, CA

Supply Donations: Donations for medical, dental and other dental supplies are raised to support and care for patients in need or who cannot afford them.

Blood Donation: To address shortages in the blood supply, blood drives are conducted by different centers and regions of The Sri Sathya Sai International Organization.

Blood Drive in MO

Liquid Love to Save a Life – Blood Drive: St. Louis, MO

Marrow Drive: The odds of finding a fully matched donor is very low and very challenging. Volunteers conduct bone marrow drive to raise awareness and to encourage signing up to a bone marrow registry.

Volunteers must not wait for chances of service to come to them; they must be on the look-out for them, alert and ready. Then, they can find them all around. It is the heart of stone that blinds the eye to the pain that others endure.
